Questions Before You Book

Tours on this site are booked through live listings, and a small commission supports this guide on each booking. The answers below cover tickets, opening hours, the Basílica del Pilar and the Aljafería.

How Tours Are Booked Here

Every link leads to a live booking page, and when a reader books, the operator pays this desk a commission. The reader's price stays the same. That covers guided city tours, food and wine experiences, monument tickets and day trips beyond the city. The free walking tours run on a pay what you want basis, so no commission applies to them.

Opening Hours, Prices And Tickets

Entering the Basílica del Pilar is free, and the Torre Mirador viewpoint costs 6 EUR for an adult, with reductions for over 65s, residents, students and under 12s going free. The Aljafería charges 7 EUR general admission, 9 EUR with a guided tour, and 2 EUR for students and over 65s, while under 12s enter free. It also opens free on the first and third Sunday and Monday of each month. Hours shift with the season, so the city's own monument timetable is the place to check the current schedule and any holiday closure.

What The Museum Closures Change

The Museo de Zaragoza central building is closed for works, with no reopening date set, so no visit can be planned there. The Museo Goya reopens on 9 October 2026, though its admission price has not been published. At the Basílica del Pilar, restoration of the Regina Patriarcharum dome was agreed in January 2026, funded by Fundación Ibercaja, but completion is not confirmed, so the interior may carry scaffolding during your visit.

What Changes In October

Zaragoza sits inland on the Ebro, with a dry continental climate and the cold, dry cierzo wind as the honest planning variable. The AEMET 1981-2010 normals for Zaragoza Aeropuerto put the mean annual temperature at 15.5 C, rainfall at about 322 mm a year and sunshine at 2,693 hours. Rain is scarce in every month of that window, so heat in summer and wind in winter matter more than wet weather when you choose your dates.

Can You Walk Zaragoza For Free

Yes, three of them. Each free walking tour runs on a pay what you want basis, with the tip setting the cost at the end, and one runs about two hours through the old town. They are not this desk's product; together they hold ratings from 4.15 to 4.97 across their reviews.
